Western_Train

Undeniably the system's most distinctive trams are the illuminated cars, decorated with coloured bulbs and used on illuminations tours. Various shapes and sizes have appeared over the years, but the best known and most enduring are the Rocket, and the Western Train. 'Elf & Safety now sadly prevents the Rocket, with it's steeply slanted saloon floor, from entering public service, but the Western Train remains in use and always draws much attention. This tram is made up of component parts from various withdrawn service cars, and was the subject of a lengthy rebuid and return to service, of which DVD is available. This view shows the 'Train' heading northbound along the Prom.
