Going back to Tombstone

WV2032/2025

Colourled pencils faber-castell and mixed media on Steinbach paper.

"I'm coming back to Tombstone with the sun behind my back

I'm tired of people talking of things that I lack

Ever since a year ago, the day she passed away

I've been taking too much notice of the things they've had to say

And all they say is you ain't half the woman she used to be

She had strength and she worked all her life to feed her family

Oh it's hard and I can't see what they want me to do Lord,

They seem to think I should step into mother's shoes..."

Inspired by INTO THE OLD MAN'S SHOES, Elton John/Bernie Taupin, 1970.
