Utopia

"The founders of a new colony, whatever Utopia of human virtue and happiness they might originally project, have invariably recognized it among their earliest practical necessities to allot a portion of the virgin soil as a cemetery, and another portion as the site of a prison." ~~ Nathaniel Hawthorne

Utopia is unachievable. It goes against the fundamental rule of nature, that of balance. Without light, there's no dark. Without loss, there's no victory. Similarly, without pain, there's no utopia. I love that above quote, because it highlights the futility of searching for it. A good life is a balanced life and that is something we should all achieve towards (coming from a formerly career obsessed person!)

It's been a week away from flickr. I have to say, I've been struggling to find things to do to keep me occupied, which makes me wonder how much time I was actually dedicating to it!! But now, I'm getting other things done as well. Still trying to find the balance between healthy flickr addiction and life, and so far I think this weekend posting works well. So I'm most probably going to stick to catching up on your streams on the weekend and I'll most probably be dumping (yeah, that's the word for it literally) my stuff here too then. Like I said, this is still in demo phase, so forgive the dump and lets see how this works. Hope you guys are doing great!
