Just proves that you don't have to always take a trip to a tropical rainforest to find some amazing looking bugs. Fond of damp grassland areas and chalky soils where the larvae of this beetle develop in the stem tissues of herbaceous plants such as hogweed. Can be seen from May to June and found widespread in the UK but local in eastern England.
