Herring Gull - Larus argentatus

Herring Gull seen here with dark eyes when many of these gulls become white headed in winter, not quite an adult here as the beak lacks the yellow colour. For the record there is actually no bird species that exist that is called a seagull. The word seagull is an informal way of referring to any of the gull species that belong to the family 'Lanridae'.
