Zebra Longwing Butterflies - Heliconius charithonia

When the sky starts to darken and rain threatens the Zebra Longwing Butterflies will often come into roost that can be in an individual shrub or the underside of leafs and can often be in the same location. When it rains the upper canopy will intercept the rain drops and will help reduce their impact on the vegetation below that the Butterflies are roosting in.
