Terror Tower
The Hollywood Tower Hotel seen above is the location of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It originally opened in 1994 and we rode it in 1996. Not being Americans and therefore versed in the whole Twilight Zone theme, I think a lot of the decor and references in the place passed us by.
However, what did astonish us was the number of people (20+) outside the exit in various stages of recovery from shock - they'd obviously worked themselves up into a completely-unnecessary frame of mind during the build-up to the ride! We saw these as we approached the ride and wondered exactly what was going on inside, although all we knew were the shrieks from patrons in the bowels of the building.
The ride was well-designed and excellent (details can be found on the interweb if you don't already know), although I was the sucker in the centre of the back row with just a lap strap whilst all the others were held in by drop-down steel bars...
