The Rottal Glacier

This view looks across the Lauterbrunnen Valley from Gimmelwald to the Rottal Glacier (Rottalgletscher) which sits below the Jungfrau.

The Rottal is notable as a fairly high glacier in the Bernese Overland, sitting in a small bowl at well over 2,600m, with the outflow plunging down to the floor (1,100m) of the Lauterbrunnen Valley clearly visible in the image above.

The multiple layers of clouds break up the image and make it more interesting.
