Mail Delivery, Bridge Street
In the foreground, Mail Carrier 146 on their bicycle in the left foreground is facing south on George Street and waiting for the lights to change before heading off with a large pile of parcels in their front basket. I assume that Mail Carrier 146 works for Australia Post
I was looking east down Bridge Street (as is the mail carrier!), which runs east-west across the northern portion of Sydney's central business district. Although it looks considerably further above, it is only 500m to the far end of the road.
Sydney's first 'permanent' building was constructed on what later became Bridge Street. It was towards the far end of the road as seen above.
The Aboriginal-themed banners seen on both sides of the road are actually Christmas decorations as it was just a couple of weeks before Christmas Day when I took this shot - in seriously baking heat...
