Robert Harting Celebrating
The winner of the men's discus gold medal at London 2012, Robert Harting (Germany), is seen here celebrating with some German fans during his victory lap of the stadium. He had earlier thrown the discus out to 68.27m in the fifth round of the competition to win the gold medal.
He started his celebratory lap by having a "Incredible Hulk" moment, shredding his singlet, hence his state of undress. The stadium commentator noted during the event that he had not been beaten in any competition since 2010, so a deserved win by the pre-event favourite.
Harting was about to achieve London Olympics immortality, as after this scene he went on to "hurdle" his way down the outside lane of the home straight which was set up ready for the women's 100m hurdles final. The various video clips of him half-jumping each hurdle have gathered well over 100,000 views on YouTube and he's a feature in the BBC's highlights reels as well. Definitely the best victory celebration of the athletics events.
