Edensor

Pronounced "Ensor", this village was built in the 1800's to replace the original one that was situated directly below Chatsworth House, as the then 7th Duke of Devonshire didn't want the villagers near to him. The architect was Sir Joseph Paxton, who was responsible for designing the original Crystal Palace, and he came up with designs for the houses. The Duke couldn't make up his mind which design he liked, so they used all of them, therefore each house is unique
