Boot's Folly
Seen from afar this tower on the edge of Bradfield Moor stands high above Strines reservoir to the South of Bradfield Village. It was built by local businessman Charles Boot in 1927 who lived not far away at Bent House. There seems to be no reason for building it, but it has been suggested that it was built to provide work for the unemployed, a reason often given for the building of such isolated towers.
