Flower Hierarchy
The living world has a hierarchal organization extending from molecules to the biosphere. This is clearly shown from the image above. All parties involved help each other and without one another this specific ecosystem would be thrown off balance. The flowers themselves benefit from the earth because it gives them a place to grow and flourish. The earth gets nutrients from the flower which would not have been available without the flower's growth. Finally, the bumble bees which pollenate the flowers benefit everyone because, first, they help the seeds of the flower spread from the original spot they were grown in, and, second, the bumble bees get nutrients from the flowers which are not available in any other flower. This image represents a hierarchy because without certain parties this mini ecosystem would never be able to exist. The earth is important to the flowers and the bees are important to flowers. Therefore, the bumble bees are on top of the hierarchy while the flowers and the earth remain below. However, just because the bees are on top does not mean the flower or the earth is any less important. Each party works together to keep each other growing and flourishing.
