I chose this picture because it was slighly different than most pictures taken of September 11. The picture only shows the after math just after the second town fell. The picture seems almost creepier than those showing the plans striking the buildings because just looking at this picture, you don't know what happened. You just know something devestating happened. The picture was taken by the NYC Police Aviation Unit that was in the air after the the first plane hit. This particular picture was not released until 2010. I like the fact that this picture doesn't tell you what happened. This picture only shows the after math of the incident.

 

I really liked the way the smoke just seemed to roll through the city away from ground Zero. The picture doesn't show the planes or the injured people, or the tattered flags, it just shows the the city. It shows the city being torn apart and coated in debris. It shows the city silent. The smoke reaches up taller than some of the surrounding builings givng the impression that what ever it was the caused the smoke was huge. Which it was, obviously. The angle that this picture was taken from makes the entire city seem dark. The looming cloud gives the appearence that it is going to take over the entire city.
