The Whiskey Effect

Got a tip to start small with only one flash when practising flash photography.

For key light I used a 90x60 cm softbox which worked great for making the light very soft.

For fill light I used a white reflector which eliminated the the need of a 2nd flash.

Shot was taken at 1/4000 s to completely darken the otherwise busy living room background.

18 mm focal length was used to get the wide angle perspective and almost comical look of the shot.

Equipment

Canon 50D with EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS.

1 pcs 430EX II, Pixel King Radio Triggers, 90x60 cm Softbox, White reflector.

Shot info

Setting: 18 mm at f/3.5, 1/4000 s, ISO 400.

Key light: Flash with 90x60 cm softbox with 1/8 CTO 20 cm away at 90° right.

Fill light: White reflector 20 cm away at 90° left.

Post Shot Manipulation

Slight light spill on the ceiling removed.
