A Gathering Storm

The crew of IAIS 6988 is tending to the locomotive as it lays over in Annawan between its second and third excursion runs of the day. Meanwhile, clouds gather over the aptly-named "Iowa Bolt" as a storm system gathers strength not much further to the west. This storm system was not supposed to happen. After getting rained on with torrential downpours the day before, I made sure to check all my weather apps before I left home. All three of them (Weatherbug, Storm, and AccuWeather) all said it would be warm and partly cloudy, with no rain at all in the Annawan area. So I didn't grab my rain gear at all, a decision that would soon be regretful.
