Metalworker

This man was doing metal work in his shop at the Chauk in Varanasi. He and his fellow shop keeper worked on separate pieces- one was Hindi and one was Islamic. These metal plates would be used to decorate homes and were ordered and then picked up at a later date from the shop. The narrow streets of the chauk are hosts to many different kinds of businesses including sweets, silks, and metalworkers.
