The Olgas sunrise panorama

We stayed at Yulara in the campground. So it was up well before sunrise to drive to the sunrise viewing area provided by Uluru National Parks. Road was good so it was a clear drive in the dark. Luckily there were no animals on the road. Parked near the lookout and hiked over 400 metres up to the platform. Well, talk about disappointed. There was hardly any room to set up a tripod. A bus was there earlier and it was standing room only. Eventually the sun appeared. What sunrise? All we got was rear and side lighting. Stayed for over an hour anyway waiting for more light. It didn't change much.

The viewing area will be good for a sunrise/sunset perhaps a couple of months on each side of the summer solstice in Australia. Same thing at Ayers Rock....viewing area for sunrises placed in a silly position. Poor park management for tourists and photographers.

Reduced the size to about half so there is still plenty of detail.
