-Les plagues de coloms suposen un risc per a la salut humana.
-Són portadores de més de 50 ectoparàsits externs que es poden transmetre tant a persones com a animals.
- Els excrements dels coloms provoquen un deteriorament dels edificis, monuments, carrers, parcs…
-L’acumulació d’excrements pot portar a desenvolupar salmonel·la.
-La inhalació de plomes o excrements secs pot provocar la psitacosis o qualsevol tipus d’infecció fúngica.
-Poden infectar alguns aliments dels horts, transmeten aquestes malalties als humans quan els consumeixen.
