Abstracte.
L'art abstracte és un estil artístic que va sorgir a l'inici del segle XX i les conseqüències múltiples del qual n'han fet una de les manifestacions més significatives de l'esperit del segle XX.
L'art abstracte deixa de considerar justificada la necessitat de la representació figurativa i tendeix a substituir-la per un llenguatge visual autònom, dotat de les seves pròpies significacions.
Aquest llenguatge s'ha elaborat a partir de les experiències fauvistes i expressionistes, que exalten la força del color i desemboquen en l'anomenada abstracció lírica o informalisme, o bé a partir de l'estructuració cubista, que dóna lloc a diferents abstraccions geomètriques i constructives.
