Eremophila flower: close up (from near Burke, NSW)
An Eremophila flower (pretty sure this is Eremophila longifolia), from near Burke, NSW, in close up.
This is a plant I know well from my childhood in the arid regions of Australia (they are described as "tolerant of harsh conditions" by the experts at Australian Plants Online). It's growth habit, in the arid areas at least, is as a small bush with relatively profuse flowers.
This particular Eremophila was also known as 'native honey suckle': it makes yummy nectar which you can suck off the ends of the flowers.
