The River Don Engine.

3.11.2022.

The world's most powerful working steam engine.

Built in 1905 by Davy Bros of Sheffield for use in the Park Lane Ironworks.

This 12000hp giant was used to drive an armour plate rolling mill. The heavy steel plates were used in the First World War to make ships and during the Second World War it made parts for tanks, air-craft carriers and fighter planes.

To see and hear this engine running is well worth it!
