[DC] Personify Hope
“Heroism is a community. And it starts with the JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA.”

The flagship Justice League title of DC Rebirth by Steve Orlando and Ivan Reis continues to shine with unforgettable character moments, stunning art, and a variety of much-appreciated callbacks to Pre-Flashpoint continuity.
Although this series has garnered increasing criticism since its debut for switching up the artists and delaying the current Microverse arc until now, it is still LEAGUES better than Bryan Hitch's Justice League, which is a steaming pile of diseased dog poopy. Hitch cannot write and he cannot draw. All of his story arcs revolve around horribly convoluted timeline fuckery, and the entire run honestly feels like joyless fanfiction written by someone without the capacity to convey emotion.
In contrast, JLA is consistently full of the small, personal moments that add so much genuine emotional depth to a comic. I love how the team's new headquarters are located by the oceanside, and that they primarily operate in the lesser known cities of the DC Universe. And LOBO, my god! He is one reason alone to read this comic, everything is just made 10x better with the Main Man.
Designing and releasing this shot was a logistical nightmare. If you've noticed already, Black Canary is missing her characteristic jacket, thanks to me getting ripped off TWICE by CapeMadness on Bricklink. This alone delayed the shot for about 3 months. In addition, Lobo's not purist whatsoever, and I neither wanted to wait half a year for the official Lobo and Rebirth Batman figs nor simply use my existing purist version, which isn't as exciting as my custom one. Finally, I ran into a lot problems when editing the final picture together.
Some notes on the fig designs:
I switched up Batman's design for Eden's because of the belt contour; it really is more accurate, despite their being less detail on the torso print in general. I also doubled up on capes, despite already having the duotone feature of the Maleficent cape. I just didn't think it was long enough to make him imposing.
A closer look at Killer Frost will be posted on my secondary photostream this evening. I combined the cupcake and beard pieces to give her hair a lot of volume.
Lobo's a custom figure made from Poppunkmunky and OnlineSailin parts. I NEVER thought Lego would ever make an official version of such a crude character, hence why I bought the custom in the first place. Oh well! Maybe I'll reshoot this when the official one releases...
