Tea Time (2) The first tea visitor
Winnipeg, adopted by Mummy Marian, has just arrived at Mummy Marian's home and immediately walks into the warm living room and sees Woody with the tea set.
WINNIPEG:
Good morning, bear!
I'm Winnipeg... oh... I see you've made tea for me.
That's very kind of you. I've had a long journey and I need a warm cup of tea and something tasty.
Oh... biscuits!!!! Wow... I love biscuits (takes two biscuits with his paw).
WOODY:
Eh... wait a minute... eh... Winni... eh...
WINNIPEG:
Winnipeg is my name, as I already told you.
WOODY:
Ok... Winnipeg.
You have a beautiful name, but I don't think you're behaving properly.
Firstly, it's not morning, it's afternoon.
You should have said good afternoon.
Secondly, the tea isn't just for you.
WINNIPEG:
Oh... sorry... eh...
WOODY:
My name is Woody...not Bear
WINNIPEG:
Sorry Woody... I didn't mean to.
I'm really thirsty, you know, and I have a grumbly tummy.
WOODY:
Well... come on, sit next to me, and I'll give you a cup of hot tea and you can have a biscuit.
Just one biscuit..right! More tea drinkers will be visiting soon. They'll want biscuits too.
You can get to know them.
WINNIPEG:
Oh... that sounds nice!!!
It's so cosy here... and I like you, Woody (gives him a snuffly kiss).
WOODY:
Thank you. Drink your tea now, otherwise it will get cold.
Winnipeg sips the tea.
Both Winnipeg and Woody are teddy bears from the UK, Beautifully hand crafted in Merrythought a British historical factory. The plush is mohair and the paws are made of cotton velvet.
The porcelain tea set is from Steiff, (2002).
