The wooden shoe
PETER:
Oleg? I'm a bit sad. I am worried about my very best friend Scout and your best friend Paddy.

It's very hot in Australia. They need rain right away or they will become mummies. I thought so...well...um...maybe we can send rain to them. We get far too much rain.
OLEG:
That's very kind of you Peter, but how do you want to do that?
PETER:
I have already thought about that Oleg, You have to trust me and come with me.
Peter and Oleg walk to the pond in Mummy Marian,s garden.
OLEG:
What are we doing here?
PETER:
Look in the pond Oleg.
OLEG:
Nothing to see, just one of Mummy Marian's wooden shoes.
PETER:
Yep...get in there because we're going to practice boating. If we can sail well then we'll go to Australia. We'll take a big cloud of rain with us, maybe two.
OLEG:
Your kidding. I'm not getting into that wooden shoe. By the way, how do you plan to transport that cloud.
PETER:
I'll tie a rope around it and drag it behind the wooden shoe
Please Oleg...get in it now.
Oleg carefully steps into the wooden shoe and Peter does the same.
The strong east wind blows them to the middle of the pond.
OLEG:
Stop Peter....I want to go back!!!!!
I get nauseous and I can't swim
PETER:
I can't swim either Oleg.
We are safe here. Nothing will happen, but then you shouldn't wobble back and forth like that.
OLEG:
I do that because there is a hole in the wooden shoe and water flows in and I have wet paws.
PETER:
Please be patient Oleg, the wind is blowing us to shore.
When they are ashore:
OLEG:
I'd like to help our friends, but you understand I'm not going to Australia that way. By the way how did you come up with the idea of sitting in a wooden shoe.
PETER:
It's actually the idea of my very best friend Scout
He showed me a picture of himself in Daddy's new sandal.
OLEG:
Well I have to tell you I'm not surprised
