Class 171

Southern have a small fleet of diesel units for use on the Marsh-link (Brighton to Ashford) and Uckfield lines. They are basically a standard Bombardier Turbostar class 170, but differ in being fitted with Dellner couplings to be compatible with the Electrostar fleet. They come in two subclasses, the 2-car class 171/7 and the 3-car class 171/8
