If you look closely you'll notice that the girl's hand isn't actually touching the strings. The strings are apparently made of stiff wire and carefully bent into position so that from a distance it looks as if the girl is plucking them.
I suspect that for some reason these detail shots won't get as many hits as the ones showing the girl's figure, but I believe they're important for establishing the artist's attention to fine detail.
