You can't see too clearly from this angle, but that's a panther lying between his feet with its tail curled up behind his left calf.
There are bronze versions of this statue, as usual censored (though only in front!) by drapery. I have seen a picture of a frontally-nude bronze, though the size isn't clear from the photo.
Not much more to say about this one except that it's another Internet Archive picture with the contrast adjusted, some despotting, and the background painstakingly blacked out (or to be more precise, flipped to negative and whited out!).
