A couch-sized quilt: 42"x60", the most recent in my 'improvisational quilt' series. It is machine-pieced almost entirely from recycled linen, with extensive hand-embroidery, in the style of a crazy quilt, and is hand-quilted. The rectangles that are joined (in curved lines) by the embroidered stars are re-programmed versions of several of Ed's photos in which he made the color pixels go around in a spiral rather than line up in rows for the expected image. I have subsequently printed them on cloth. Thus is it a transformation in more than one sense.
