Kansas City business man began construction of this extravagant summer home in the early 1900's. During construction in 1906,Synder was killed in what was believed to be the state's first automobile accident. His sons managed to finish the castle in the early 1920's but a failing business lead to selling the castle in the mid 1930's. It was used as a motel until 1942 when it was destroyed in a fire. It now serves as the centerpiece for Ha Ha Tonka State Park...
