It was built in the late 1950's by the large Greeley, CO. cattle feedlot operation that started in the 1930's to collect grain for their operation, one of the country's biggest at the time.The company revolutionized the way feedlots operated by building their own elevators and packing plants near their largest customer bases. Beef could be processed locally instead of animals being shipped all over the country. They also devised the concept of "boxed beef",trucking cut up beef to customers instead of whole carcasses. They survived near bankruptcy in the 1980's and union problems to still operate today....
