Spider wasp with its prize
Whilst on my morning walk i thought i would have a look at a Striated pardalote nest site that i knew of that was build into a pushed up pile of dirt . As i approached the nest tunnel i saw this Cryptocheilus species of spider wasp with its prey a rather large wolf spider well the wasp spotted me and drop its prey and flew off , whilst it was gone i took the opportunity to take a couple of the spider and then waited for the wasps return i knew that it would not abandon its prize i managed to take a few of the wasp as it dragged its well earned food store for its young into the abandoned Pardalote nest site at a very fast rate . my last photo turned out a bit dark as my flash was not recharging fast enough
