16/365 first rehearsal
The first cast meeting of the 2011 Busan "Vagina Monologues" was actually full of non-stop laughter, but here everyone is seriously trying to take in the rules of a game called "Moods" which we played to end the first cast rehearsal. A bit of an acting game, it involves everyone thinking of one (or two) "moods" then writing them on slips of paper, then pulling one out of a hat and reading a selection from a book in that mood, after which everyone guesses which one it was. It was quite enjoyable, as was the rehearsal. But I always end up feeling a bit unsure at first when I'm a director. Afraid I'll let everyone down, disappoint, waste their time or just seem ridiculous in some way. I still have a lot of leftover anxiety from being the uncool kid in school. Still, I think things went well and next week we begin our serious work towards the end goal of our show on February 27th, my birthday.
