IMG_6908-1(W) Newly hatched Reticulated python (Malayopython reticulatus)-not in-situ
Ampang, KL
One of my friend was helping out at a client's house. He was told that there are some weird looking white eggs hidden in the garden. Hence, my friend who also runs a volunteer snake removal services took the eggs home (client is terrified of snakes) and incubate them. And yesterday the eggs finally hatched. They are released back in the wild today.
Toxicity: Non-venomous but packed a bite and if not careful adult python might tear a big chunk of flesh out of of yea!
Reticulated python is native to South and Southeast Asia. It is believe to be the world's longest snake. With a lot of luck, it may one day grow to be the world longest snake and it is among the top three heaviest snake species.
The specific name, reticulatus, is Latin meaning "net-like", or reticulated, and is a reference to the complex colour pattern.
