Tawny Owl

This morning I had a macro flash workshop with five clients from Wigan PS, it was an enjoyable session and we had a good laugh. Then back on the road at 4-30pm to put bait out for the Barn Owls, then a half hour drive to meet my mate Mike Hudson at our Tawny Owl site. With this cold spell I knew the Owls would be struggling to catch prey and would be hungry, it was 8pm when the Owl finally arrived , it swopped down and took the bait, a quick look at the screen and I was happy to get a half decent shot. I wanted a better wing position so a few minor adjustments then back in the hide, it wasn’t long before the Owl was back “click” the wings looked perfect, I couldn’t wait to look at the image, it was the shot I had visualised, but the bloody lens had misted up resulting in a soft image!, time to pack up and go home.
