Pumpkins under the Stars

Taken out in the desert on a very nice spring day. The sign in the area states that, these "pumpkins" are a result of wind and water continuously eroding the surface soil and revealing these globular sandstone creations, called rock concretions. These are believed to be formed by natural cementing sand particles to a small object.
