I have been wanting to photograph this bird for 5 years. I first saw this bird briefly at my friend's mountain ranch in 2010 and they did not show up for three years and they reappeared this April. In fact, this pair showed up in the end of March. According to my friends, they were gone for a week or ten days and returned to their backyard forest only in rainy days. Odd, isn't it? I went last weekend and searched whole day and did not see them. I am so happy that we have rain almost everyday this week! Most photographers don't like rain, me neither. But in this case, I thank rain ;)
Of course, the male brought his girl with him, they came as a pair! I would not be able to see and snap this beauty without my friends Camille and Gary's first hand info! Thank you guys! and thanks everyone for viewing my work, cheers! - Linda
