Mod1 Project2 (Project 1.2)

Mark: 13/20

Tutor Comments: You have produced a very strong concept board, they are difficult to grasp and can take many attempts to get them right. Always refer back to the brief when finding images for the concept.

-The image of the bubbles creates the feeling of light and airy as they are floating in the open air. The fact that you have selected some very abstract images gives the board an unstructured feel. We also gain the impression of space through the girl on the roof with the blue sky. The American West Coast is harder to see in your images. We would expect an image representing the US, the beach, sea, palm trees are the obvious ones.

-The concept board would be stronger if the images of the coffee cup, the top image and the bottom left image were all removed, leaving the 4 strongest images on the board. The 4 images create the emotions in the brief (except US West Coast) and they create impact which is the job of the concept board.

-The image on the top left and far right are too close to the edge of the board, allow your borders to be wider and the images on the board to be closer, closing the gaps slightly.

-Labelling: KLC label their boards with the students name and date on the right hand side, the title in the centre and the client's name on the left.

-The black panel across the bottom of the board should be the same size as the width of the mount board as it is cut short on either ends it looks odd.

-The images would look best if they were all stuck to card (the same thickness as mount board) and then stuck to the board. The foam board images feel very thick compared to the images which have been stuck to the card.
