For many people, a scream is a way for people to release their anger and frustration. I created a visual depiction of these emotions with the messy red lines, red being a high energy color and the messiness of the lines showing how neither frustration nor anger are clean, simple emotions, they always have depth and complexity.
I lit this image with a gridded speedlight in front of Laura, angled to light only her face, but with me bringing in enough ambient light to keep some detail in the body and background. The lines were created with a laser pointer and 30 second exposure. I composited two photos together to make this image because I preferred the pattern of the laser in my second shot, but the pose in the first.
