My first attempt to make a field hybrid from original Sinar components in a reversible manner. I used cheap Chinese macro focusing rails to make a 4x5 / 5x7 camera that is easy to carry around. Turns out the whole thing is not as sturdy and combines as much weight as the classic pack, so in the end I had to move on to other ideas... Based on the Sinar Wolf / Alpina concept.
Here you see a detail of how the macro focusing adapters were cut to allow the Sinar F1 front standard to slide in; the original piece on the right was used to fix the front standard in place). On the 5x7 frame I used a screw that would fix together the adapter and the frame (however the whole thing was not really stable for film loading and unloading).
