The Built Environment, Tyre Shop, North London, England.
This was a ten second photo opportunity between cars driving off and parking in front of the shop.
I was stood in the middle of the road and was told to move to the kerb by a copper leaning out of his van. As I took the shot I noticed the shop owner staring out at me, I moved on further up the road and back to the middle of the road and heard shouting. I continued with my task and then found that the shop owner had pursued me along the road, he thought I was a council snoop !, as in the 35 years he has been in business he feels they have been nit picking and persecuting him and the result has cost him a lot of hard earned money.
I explained my behaviour and told him how much I appreciate characterful shops such as this, we parted on first name terms and a handshake, . . . along with the promise of a print.
