Apple

This apple can be seen at Schiphol Amsterdam International Airport.

 

The apple is a work of art by Kees Franse from 1975. It is a large apple made of wood. The work is covered with names and messages from passing travelers. These were initially removed by airport staff, but the artist thought this was "a nice addition to his work", and since then the applied texts have been left alone.
