DAY 3: Flash
DAY 3: The master of outdoor survival, Flash is the real-deal when it comes to pet cats. He was named Flash because when he first came around he would be present in a flash, then gone in another. This wild animal has withstood the test of time in the rough outdoor life. Graphic content in next paragraph.
Back in 2009, I was upstate and a gigantic raccoon had mauled this poor thing. Somehow Flash held his own during the fight but the raccoon ripped his neck open from top to bottom. Surprisingly enough, Flash didn't die on the spot nor from any infection. He looked sickly and thin for almost two years as he slowly healed from the fight. I videotaped the first time he ate food after the big fight; quite a gruesome sight.
Even today, his wound is not completely healed but his spirit is back 200% as he awaits the charitable handout of human food. I videotaped the first time he ate food after the big fight; quite a gruesome but also beautiful sight. Even though we're not friends, I feel somewhat of a camaraderie between myself and the cat based on his strength as a live and wild being. So, even though he's a cat, I am featuring him on Day 3.
