When I took my grandfather to the transit museum, he spent a lot of time explaining how rivets hold the Brooklyn Bridge and the train station poles together. Eventually, everything around rivets required repair, but they are strong enough to hold the structure together. Something like the human body, but as long as we keep the soul going, no time can erase our rivets if we focus on what’s truly vital rather than trivial.
