be who you want to be
Today is the last day of the exhibit, and while I respect the rule of ‘no photos’ really wanted to go back & take notes... My first thought was to post an image of his face, but then felt ‘nah’ !!! He was more than just a face. This abstract photo is a ceiling inside one of the exhibition rooms (and yes I got an official permission to photograph) ... This is exactly how I felt being there & at the same time it made me think of the lyrics: planet earth is blue / and there’s nothing I can do
What I personally found to be fascinating is not just his music but his talent for 'oblique strategies' to be inspired by absolutely everything around him; music, architecture, philosophy, other artists, Jack Kerouac, film, costume designs, beat poets and etc. Catalyst for inspiration could be anything & that passion for life made him unique.
Just a little EXTRA INFO: his first single Liza Jane with King Bees failed to make the charts. First album released in 1967 was not a commercial success. Failture with hard work & imagination is reversible
