Then. 1961 and an 8F

Described as an 8F on ballast approaching Roade Cutting in 1961. Which is incorrect on the first point and maybe the second as well. What it really is is a train of iron ore tipplers approaching Blisworth from Northampton on the original 1845 line with the Milton Malsor to Rothersthorpe Road on the left. The course of the the line now buried under the A43 bypass. This section was to have been electrified as shown by the metal posts but thats all that was ever done and no further work was attempted. I think 1961 is probably a couple of years early as i dont recall any electrification posts appearing locally on the main line before 1962 or 63. A well known location to me but the first photo i have ever seen just here.
