BLM ~ RLM

Although not in the exact same place in this time, both BLACK & RURAL LIVES are in remarkably similar places ~ in this time. Places with circumstances, which do not fully recognize the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them ~ as constituted in our Declaration of Independence. These Laws, truths we hold to be held self-evident, that ‘all people’ are created equal, that they are endowed . . . with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

To be clear, the BLM movement is not to be trivialized when comparing the ‘current’ circumstances and experiences of black and rural lives, because black lives matter ~ period. However, when juxtaposed, unexpected similarities are revealed between relevant areas of interest. Similarities, perhaps not recognized, partially by the fact that the journey of each to this point has been anything but similar. One thought is that by laying side by side in comparison some of the relevant areas of their lives, the similarities in their ‘current’ circumstances and experiences will become more evident, revealing what their very different journeys have at least partly helped to conceal ~ that they have much more in common than they have differences.

To recognize that this limited exercise (which also excludes other groups such as the LGBTQ, Hispanic, Asian, Biracial, Urban, etc... communities) oversimplifies the analysis of our current circumstances ~ is an understatement. However, starting at a relevant place of manageable scope is what we need at times ~ just to get started . . . . .
