Line Astern
On the evening of the 8th July 2013 I decided to go for a walk by the River Trent. For many years I have wanted to watch ships operating on this most difficult of rivers and completely by luck I dropped on a high tide. In total there were five movements which gave me one of the best hours photography I have ever had.
As soon as there is enough water the pilots get the vessels underway and three river-sea ships escape to the sea. The well maintained Dutch owned Wisdom (2004, 1,842 DWT) leads the line as after loading at Flixborough for Dordrecht. Eric Hammann and Nordica Hav follow astern.
