Innovator blocked
On the 30th July 2023 the Norwegian coaster 'Misje Verde' (2023, 5,288DWT) is seen alongside at Cattedown, Plymouth after arrival from Swansea. Built in Sri Lanka the vessel is fitted with batteries to allow emission free operations in ports and was loaded with aggregates for Cemex at Dagenham.
I had noticed the hybrid vessel was alongside so thought it was worth the trip even in the dull weather. Unhelpfully the Border Force vessel moored for the weekend had its AIS switched off so didn't realise it was blocking the view. Despite spending 30 minutes looking I couldn't find a clearer shot but it is a record of the innovative new vessel.
