It had arrived with 3V07 from Leicester. After an exam which saw it's boiler and a traction motor isolated, it spent the weekend here. On the 14th it had made it to Severn Tunnel Junction, before working back to the Eastern Region with 6E88 21.00 Landeilo - Whitemoor. On the 15th it did 5E50 09.40 Peterborough - Kings Cross, before being stopped with generator and traction motor problems. Despite repairs being completed at Stratford, the generator was still problematic, and it required works attention. This was not authorised and the loco was condemned at 14.00 on 21.12.1981.
